My .02 is that the Blackjack II is the best alternate to the HTC touchscreen line through AT&T. In general I don't like Samsungs, and the non-touchscreen thing would drive me nuts pretty quickly, but I would take the Blackjack II over the Treo 750, anything from Blackberry or an iPhone any day.
I've been a fan of the iPhone-formatted site via Opera for speed/simplicity. Keep holding out hope for a killer WM Facebook app at some point, but thus far disappointed with the few standalone options.
Call me silly, but I don't use 3rd party unlock applications. I use my GSM devices on AT&T and previously on Cingular, and a quick phone call does the trick for me. I keep an old dead T-Mobile SIM on hand for this purpose. The phone call goes like this: "I already have the international roaming feature on my account, and I would like to unlock my phone for international travel. "I bought it with the 2-year discount, and it's branded with the lowercase at&t logo. "The IMEI is 354... "Thank you, have a great day." With the code provided by the carrier, there are no warranty issues nor as many potential problems with not being able to follow directions.
Man, that sent notification is the most obnoxious thing ever, isn't it? Why would they even put that in in the first place? Who wants that?
