It’s like spotting a unicorn! You always wanted to believe knew it existed, but you’d just never seen one… but here it is! Taiwanese site ePrice has pictures of the white HTC Touch Diamond up. Now, I normally hate the look of white electronics and gadgets - I’m a black/metal fan (the finish/coat kind not the headbanging air guitarist kind) but I must say - it looks pretty cool in white.
Yep - you read that right. HTC is expecting to sell 3 million of their Touch Diamond devices by the end of 2008!
On November 21, HTC CEO Peter Chou said that before the end of the year the company expects to sell up to a million G1 (Android) devices and are expected to hit the 3 million mark with their popular Windows Mobile device, the HTC Touch Diamond.
HTC’s Chou also denied rumours of a pending layoff as well as rumours of decreased orders - proudly proclaiming that HTC was too tough for the global economic recession to weigh down. The company’s condition is so good, in fact, that they’re currently looking at acquiring a handset design company in the US.
The program works with the Samsung Omnia and HTC Touch Diamond GSensor to set off the “Jump” or “Coin” 8-bit Mario game sounds when you jump in real life.
The file includes the theme song to Super Mario Bros too so you can set it as your ringtone!
Two awesome hacks from XDA-Developers in one day! Woo hoo!
This time one that allows you to ‘enable’ (read: re-enable) Internet Sharing on your HTC Touch Diamond, Sprint Touch Pro, AT&T Fuze (Touch Pro) and the Samsung Epix!
Now, this is a registry key edit so use at your own risk as we’re never 100% sure of how these things will turn out sometimes.. but if you’re desperate for Internet Sharing (or brave and up for a challenge) try out this trick…
One of the great things about Windows Mobile is that the platform will allow for multiple browsers. If you’re unhappy with your iPhone browser, good luck doing anything about it. While most Windows Mobile users will turn to Opera Mobile 9.5 for their mobile web browsing experience, some may prefer to go with Torch Mobile, one of our top 5 mobile browser picks, who have an open-source “webkit” rendering engine (the same as the one used in Safari and Google Chrome) to Windows Mobile.
This browser isn’t recommended for the HTC Touch Diamond because apparently it doesn’t work so well on that device. In any case, it’s always fun trying new browsers and Iris has many features that should make it a worthwhile beta test:
Performance
Smaller footprint - we’re 10% smaller than beta 1!
Over at PCWorld they’re reporting that HTC is expected to ship its one millionth HTC Touch Diamond phone by the end of this month. And even though iPhone’s sales numbers are skyrocketing, HTC’s shipment of their one millionth Diamond really demonstrates just how popular this sparkly little phone is despite the fact that the marketing and promotion of the HTC Diamond was almost non existent.
HTC claims that the Touch Diamond has been doing the majority of its sales in the Asian and European market though that may change as the US and Japan will be getting their hands on this device very soon.
Boasting the largest selection of smartphones on Canada’s largest High Speed network, TELUS is proud to launch its new campaign telling Canadians that ‘We believe in smartphones for all’. To celebrate, TELUS is pleased to be the first carrier in North America to offer the latest gem of all smartphones - the HTC Touch Diamond- on Aug. 14. Stylishly sleek, the HTC Touch Diamond provides an unrivalled Internet experience and places clients one touch away from the people and information that matter most to them.
Well, well well — it looks like Phone Arena got their wonderfully nerdy little hands on some leaked documentation on the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro for Sprint and Verizon, and - uh oh - it looks like Verizon’s going to limit their version of the Diamond. The overall idea is still the same, thankfully, with both having a 2.8-inch screen, EV-DO Rev. A, 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera, 802.11b/g, 1340mAh battery, internal GPS, and Bluetooth 2.0. What’s really different is in the processor and RAM.
This is the Getting Started Video showing off TouchFLO 3D on the Touch Pro as well as the 5-row slide-out keyboard. Enjoy!
HTC has posted their latest demonstration video of their flagship business oriented smartphone, the HTC Touch Pro.
The HTC Touch Pro is basically a big brother of the popular HTC Touch Diamond. This monster packs 3.5G/HSDPA, GPS, 3.2 Mega-pixel camera, a whole lot of ROM and RAM, 2.8″ touchscreen and a five-row slide-out keyboard. What else can you ask for?
You can stop holding your breath now - the HTC Touch Diamond is now back in stock at Orange!
As you know, these beautiful phones created a bit of a scramble when customers began to complain of delays until eventually the Orange website marked them to be completely out of stock.
Bambi Blue on the post SkyFire mobile browser updated to 0.8.5: The browser does hiccup a bit from time to time on my device but I would put the blame squarely on my device in that case (it's geriatric, heh).
I'm a big fan of the browser, even besides flash and all that. It's got a really useful home screen, a great bookmarking layout, and the zoom and view functions are the best I've seen.
