According to the above chart, created from research by Gartner, Windows Mobile looks to be in a slight decline since a major rise in 2006. In general, smartphones have taken a hit which is most likely due to the current recession and economic conditions required for smartphone growth. The only phone that seems to be doing really well these days is the iPhone. The phone had a great past quarter but like most things, we can expect this to level off at some point. BlackBerry seems to be doing the same as it has always done over the past few years.
What will help Windows Mobile growth? HTC has done great things for promoting WinMo in the consumer space. Its slick devices have attracted a new client base that HTC never had before when its devices were very plain looking. In the enterprise space, growth in Asia and developing markets will really help boost sales. It’s important to get companies in India and China familiar with WinMo in order to secure the business of their company’s growth.

txtForward is a handy piece of software that allows you to send text messages directly to email from a Windows Mobile phone. Originally released for BlackBerry, the software is now available for WinMo. Why would I want to send a text to email you may ask? Well one reason I would use this software is that I may want to keep certain text messages archived in my email so I can check them at another date without fear of losing the data. Someone may text me their address, and then I’ll forward it to my email so it never gets deleted.
txtForward is available here for US$7.95.

In case you had any doubts (I know I didn’t) - the Samsung Omnia will be officially coming to Verizon Wireless.
Alright Verizon Wireless customers, put down the new BlackBerry Storm and hear me out, okay? And, while the real specs are still a mystery, we’re still talking about a 5MP camera/camcorder, full HTML browsing, and an expansive touchscreen.
While the Verizon page is linked to by Samsung’s website, the Verizon page itself doesn’t exist… yet. But it will. Oh yes, it will.

It’s about time! The LG Incite, which was announced over a month ago, is finally showing up on AT&T’s website - in stock and ready to be snatched up!
Sure, it might be bad timing for AT&T to release such a hyped device in the same week as Verizon Wireless launches their much hyped device - the BlackBerry Storm. But I would argue that it’s a great time to show what Windows Mobile has up their sleeve.
The LG Incite is available for $299 with a $100 mail-in rebate (Visa gift card) - not bad at all!
Read on for the LG Incite’s specs

RSSI have used the Howard's Forum solution for internet PC tethering however about 2 days after making the changes whenever I just want to surf the net on my BJ II I now get a 403 Access Forbidden error msg. If I power the phone off and turn it on it allows me to surf for about 1 to 2 days before giving me that error again. When I called AT$T they had me change some settings and that fixed the problem but broke my tethering capability. I reinstalled the Howard's Forum solution and got tethering back but now again have the 403 problem again. Any help would be apprciated.
Wow, Bruno - that's awful! A real Touch Diamond would have been nice, heh, but a fake one?! Especially when you're actually expecting the BB Storm! Though, from what I'm hearing, the Storm isn't the greatest device. But I haven't seen it myself so I can't say for sure. What did you end up doing with the fake phone? How much did you pay? I'm sorry you had such a rough time - I feel for ya!
I didn't listened my friends and I just both 2 blackberry storm from china (by mail). It was a surprise when I opened the box and discovered that the mobile sent to me was the HTC TOUCH DIAMOND. A bigger surprise was the discovering that it was not a HTC but a clone. In other worlds, I should listen more to my friends. No windows mobile, no e-mail, just a piece of sh.....
Couldn't send emails any more no matter what I tried so I downloaded and installed the patch. So far: I lost all of my email accounts; tried to set them up again, but when I used the same name for the account, I got stopped by an alert that said that name was already being used by another account; I picked a new name for the account and completed the setup, after I hit finish, it jumped to the Outlook account that had previously existed and the new account was not listed under mail accounts; tried this a couple of times; Did a hard reset, erasing all of my data, which isn't a big deal I have had to do hard resets so often lately there isn't much there; After the reboot, I set up the accounts successfully, the device randomly powers off; It is now frozen with a solid green colored screen, which I can do nothing about, it won't even turn off, I am on hold now with my provider's tech support. This is my experience so far with the Windows Mobile 6.1 upgrade and the SMTP patch Dan
Marc: You know, I like TinyTwitter - for sure - I just didn't really find it to be that remarkable, really. Maybe I should take a look at it again! Quakk is pretty great, you're right. But have you seen GPS Twit and Twitter Answers? Awesome!
