This video from WMExperts showcasing the Sprint Touch Pro looks awesome, but is it really?
According to a forum thread over at XDA Developers, there are some major gripes about Sprint’s much hyped Touch Pro.
Biggest complaints?
- Not being able to change the text colour in TouchFLO 3D
- The keyboard backlight is permanently set to stay on for 7 seconds
- Problems with the stock IME not working
- Battery life - “2 hours on the phone, 10 minutes of surfing and a youtube video and I’m done…“
- D-pad is not as responsive as other HTC models
- Scroll function isn’t automatically enabled in many applications
So, readers - are any of you Sprint Touch Pro users having any issues? I’d love to hear about them. Let’s add to the list! (Or, hey, take away from it - I’d much rather hear that it’s worthwhile. I love the Touch Pro!)

I have a Touch Pro from Sprint and i love it. You just can’t beat that 5 row keyboard. There are many things i dont like about such as out of the box preformance, but it is still miles ahead of previous winmo sliders. The screen is beuatiful and really shuns other htc models and even palms and iphone.
I have an HTC Touch Pro, and I also have an older sister who sells wireless service and phones. She said the HTC Touch Pro is the BEST phone if you want a touch screen. It has all the features: touch screen with great picture, huge QWERTY keyboard bluetooth, A/B/G Wifi, and unlimited posibilities with a Windows based OS. I definitely bought it cause I hate lugging around my computer everywhere to look up a few things. I love the touch screen, the screen and color quality is amazing. While we are talking about good looks, I should mention how bad this camera blows away any other phones. It has a 3.2 megapixel camera, which is over 3 times the pixels of the super popular Razor. It’s more than just lots of pixels, but there is an actual auto-focus feature which helps when taking closer high detail pictures.
I can’t say how much I love this phone! There are a few downfalls though for an average user, who isn’t as tech savvy as I.
The battery is terrible, I had a Moto Z6M Rokr and that needed to be charged 2 maybe 3 times a week. This is not the case with the Touch Pro, you need your charger (which is a USB end that demands twice the amperage of what other USB AC chargers supply). I get home with 70% battery and turn it off, but by 8 the next day its nearly dead. The other factor that others may not appreciate is the thickness of this phone. It is twice as thick as my old phone, a little thicker than a deck of cards. It comes with a case, but its only a clip on for a belt or pocket. If it was a slide on for a belt I would be much happier with the case, but its free with the phone…
If you want even MORE info about the phone, here it is. Mine has a 528 mhz processor, and 290 mb of RAM. That RAM seems like it should be sufficient, but it can’t open a standard flash site (after you surf to find the mobile flash player).
Overall- This phone is great if you want the bells and whistles, and are not worried about your battery life.
I was told to buy the extra battery, and I would reccomend it to others if there was a dock I could put the battery in (one battery charge per night for me).
I have the HTC Touch Pro, just bought it, and I love it so far. This is touch screen device and I knew I didn’t want a blackberry. I am used to the quick response of my rumor as far as texting, email and the like, but I’m patient because this phone does so much more.
I don’t much like the battery time, and I’m going to go get a car charger soon so that I don’t have to lug my charger back and forth with me. I also noticed that the LCD screen has a small square in the middle that has squiggly lines in it. I didn’t drop the phone and am actually extra careful with handling the phone, it is the most expensive phone I’ve ever bought. I’m going to take it to the sprint store tomorrow to see what kind of help I can get.
